In the Spotlight: Sami Sänpäkkilä
These screenings are for retro- and futurism lovers, for rockers and poetic souls!
This year Tampere Film Festival appreciates Sami Sänpäkkilä’s unique style. Finnish audiovisual talent’s career is observed in three screenings. In screenings there are several music videos directed by Sänpäkkilä for different bands and artists featuring roughness, humour and ethereality.
The screenings also include experimental art, video installations and three mini-docs from Sänpäkkilä’s A Day in the mouth series, which presents the daily lives of different artists (Lau Nau, Ninni Luhtasaari and Ville Pirinen).
Director himself participates in the screenings to answer questions.
Sami Sänpäkkilä is also having a Masterclass for accreditated guests on Saturday which deals with cinematography especially from the DIY point of view. How to do things with limited resources, and what is actually necessary to light or to shoot a film?
