Finnish finalist project for Euro Connection 2024 is Strive by Jussi Rautaniemi
Strive, a short film project directed and written by Jussi Rautaniemi, has been selected as Finland’s representative for the Euro Connection 2024. The project was produced by Mark Lwoff and Misha Jaari (Bufo) and is scheduled to premiere in spring 2025.
Strive is a high-intensity science fiction action film with a relatable story about a young person’s inability to adjust to the requirements of the surrounding world. Rautaniemi’s Strive was also nominated last year, but now entered with a new script.
The Finnish nominee was decided by experts from Yle, The Finnish Film Foundation and Tampere Film Festival. The final Euro Connection representatives will be announced by a European jury at the beginning of December.
Euro Connection is a European short film co-production forum where producers selected from 14 European countries have the opportunity to present their projects to production companies, financiers and broadcasters, as well as to participate in networking events.
The event will take place from 6 to 7 February 2024 at the Short Film Market in Clermont-Ferrand with the support of Creative Europe MEDIA and PROCIREP. The call for Finnish productions for the Euro Connection was made through Tampere Film Festival in autumn 2023.
