Tampere – Industrial ParkDirector: Allan PyykköCountry: FinlandYear: 1958Genre: DocumentaryDuration: 12 minA technicolour film with a varied and lively touch on Tampere's industrial works in the late 1950s. We see the Haarla factories, the town's textile and railroad industry, the diesel engines and "flat hats" of Valmet, Lokomo's grand steel machinery, Exelsior's kitchenware, Sarvis' plastics, the modern offset printing press of Uusi Kivipaino and the medicine of Star. After work, the people let their hair down, but public transport keeps the city moving all night.

Tampere tekstiilejä tekee
Textile Industry in TampereDirector: Allan Pyykkö, Uno PihlströmCountry: FinlandYear: 1958Genre: DocumentaryDuration: 9 minAge Limit:
The robust textile industry of Tampere in the late 1950s. Finlayson, Klingendahl, Suomen Trikoo and PMK are still in full swing, and his Finnish tracksuit fits javelin thrower Toivo Hyytiäinen like a glove. The scale of the production is impressive: a voiceover tells us that the amount of thread made in the town every day would be more than enough to wrap around the world.

Kaupunki kasvaa ja kaunistuu
Tampere, a City of Progress and BeautyDirector: Kaarlo NuorvalaCountry: FinlandYear: 1960Genre: DocumentaryDuration: 10 minAge Limit:
Over the years the city of Tampere has commissioned numerous short films showcasing their work. This film, made by Kaarlo Nuorvala (1910–1967) in 1960, is one of the more interesting ones. In an unconventional move, the film's opening credits are read aloud at a City Council meeting. A forward-thinking Tampere is portrayed from many different angles.
