    This short film takes viewers to Finnish Broadcasting Company Yleisradio's Radio Days event at the Helsinki Exhibition Hall, where radio technology is presented to the general public. Experts shed light on the causes of interference in radio transmissions and present ways to prevent it. We are then taken to Herttoniemi to experience the atmosphere of skiing competitions.

    A short film from the late 1930s commissioned by the Finnish Broadcasting Company Yleisradio's propaganda department showcases Kouluradio (School Radio), a radio broadcast for school children, and also includes "myths and truths about the signs of spring". The film is narrated by Pekka Tiilikainen, and radio announcer Kaisu Puuska-Joki portrays, among other things, a lark on May Day morning.

    The morning program is kicked off by the film's commentator Baron Carl-Erik Creutz. Throughout the day, we also meet commentators Pekka Tiilikainen and Eero Leväluoma, as well as announcers Matti Tammi and Kaisu Puuska-Joki. The program's diversity is further showcased by children's presenter ”Markus-setä” ("Uncle Markus") Rautio and parliamentary reporter Leo Meller. The day culminates in the popular Pienoisparlamentti (Miniature Parliament) program, in which debaters selected according to political power relations gather under the leadership of SKDL's (Finnish People's Democratic League) Hella Wuolijoki.

However, by the 1950s, Finnish radio technology was in its golden age. The film showcases Helkama-Radio Oy's product development along with the manufacture of radio receivers.

    In Finland, the first radio broadcasting experiments began as early as 1917 at Tampereen teknillinen opisto (Tampere Technical Institute). Radio operations in Lahti began with the founding of Lahden radioyhdistys (Lahti Radio Association) in 1925, and the following year, Oy Suomen Yleisradio (Finnish Broadcasting Company) was born. The documentary, directed by Heimo Palander for Yleisradio, examines the history of radio broadcasting focusing on the Lahti region.
