A total of 6762 films were submitted for the 2025 International Competition, of which 64 films from 56 countries were selected for screening.
According to the jury, the selections for the International Competition highlighted surprising and innovative approaches that stood out from the crowd. Among the Finnish films, Veera Lamminpää‘s Mereneläviä (Finland, 2024), which is also part of the National Competition, was selected for the International Competition.

The winners of the 2025 competitions will be announced at the Award Ceremony on Saturday 8 March at Olympia.
