Care and Democracy Panel Discussion

In the Care and Democracy Panel Discussion, we will discuss care and democracy practices and structures. How can films open up perspectives on care, inclusion, citizenship and power? How do the crises of care and democracy relate to each other? How could we learn to care better for each other and the world?

The panelists are documentary filmmaker and professor Susanna Helke from Aalto University, editor-in-chief Hannele Huhtala from Rohee, docent of philosophy, senior researcher Jaana Parviainen and university lecturer in environmental policy Krista Willman from Tampere University. The event will be chaired by Sonja Helkala, PhD researcher in education, and Lauri Lahikainen, Post-doctoral researcher in philosophy, from Tampere University. The event will be held in Finnish. The panel is organised by the Democracy Research Network of Tampere University in collaboration with Tampere Film Festival.
