Minea Frick
Minea Frick is a second-year student at Tammerkoski Upper Secondary School, where an arts teacher suggested they apply to participate in TFF’s Youth Jury. Frick’s hobbies include writing poetry, photography, reading, films, and hanging out with their dogs.
Frick’s favourite films include David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, Ti West’s Pearl and Ridley Scott’s original Alien – they’ve often jokingly said their favorite film genre is ‘unstable girl.’
In addition to watching films, Frick enjoys working on their own creative projects. Having enjoyed filming videos and writing stories since childhood, Frick says being a film director is their ‘unrealistic dream job.’ That dream might not be that distant, though: They have already participated in the making of several short films, and fallen deeply in love with directing, filmography and script writing.
Ella Hurme
Ella Hurme, 19, is a last-year student with a focus on communications at Sampo Upper Secondary School. During her studies she has participated in multiple communications-related projects, which have made her increasingly more interested in the film industry. Hurme already has some experience with visiting both international and domestic film productions. Her hobbies include all kinds of creative fields, such as videography and photography, drawing, and dance. For her thesis on media Hurme made a short film, whose production process she describes as eye-opening and inspiring. She’s looking forward to seeing the short films included in the competition, and says that in addition to the plot and technical skills presented in the films, she’ll most be paying attention to things such as the colours and lighting.
Aarne Pärssinen
Aarne Pärssinen is a student at Tampere Arts-Oriented Senior Secondary School (TYK). Born and raised in Tampere, the eighteen-year-old describes himself as a devoted film enthusiast and enjoys working on his own creative projects as well. Pärssinen has pursued photography for years, and has embraced the opportunity provided by his school to dip his toes into videography and filmmaking as well. A lover of short films, Pärssinen is excited to serve in Tampere Film Festival’s Youth Jury 2025.
