Minikino

Divided into two screenings, Minikino brings Tampere Film Festival to the littlest film fans as well. Click the links below to get to know the films or read on for the introduction of this theme.

Please note: Both screenings are free to attend, but due to limited seating, require a ticket. You can get your Minikino tickets in advance free of charge at one of our ticket booths.

At Tampere Film Festival, we like to have something for festivalgoers of all ages. Minikino 1 and 2 are screenings the whole family can enjoy, and to reach as many people as possible, both screenings are free to attend.

Minikino 1 is curated for children over three years old. The common thread in these films is the joy of discovery and facing challenges brought on by surprises. Everyday things like cooking, gas, loose quills where they ought not to be, and a skating trip gone awry prove to be pure comedy.

In Minikino 2, colours play an important role. Playing in the sand, digging tunnels, and wavy meadows full of flowers become imaginative journeys that are sure to whisk you away. The screening finishes with the film The Night Boots, in which a child meets a mystical forest creature in a dreamlike landscape. Due to the slightly more exciting nature of these films, this screening is for children over the age of seven.
