Democracy Drinks is an open, guided and informal discussion event where those interested in defending democracy meet around a common cause. In this discussion event, we will discuss together why imagination is needed in a democracy. We also stop to imagine what democracy could be. In addition, we examine film as an art form and a narrative tool, i.e. making and watching films and discussing them as one way of using imagination in a democratic way.
Members of the Democracy Research Network at the University of Tampere and researchers from the Kuvittele demokratia project will participate in the discussion.
SPEAKERS:
- Laura Piippo (Kuvittele demokratia research program)
- Lauri Lahikainen (Democracy Research Network at the University of Tampere)
- Riina Mikkonen (Executive director, Tampere Film Festival)
