TFF Off Season: Naza at Cinema Niagara on Sunday, October 18

Tampere Film Festival, Cinema Niagara, and B-Plan Distribution are organizing a collaborative screening of the documentary film Naza on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Niagara. The documentary is directed by Oscar winners Rachel Szor and Yuval Abraham. The controversial and highly anticipated film premiered at the Venice Film Festival, where the screening received the longest standing ovation in the festival’s history. The Finnish premiere was at the Love & Anarchy Festival afterparty on Saturday, October 3.

Filmed at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv, this documentary reveals in detail the systems behind the systematic destruction of Palestinian civilians carried out by Israel in Gaza. The documentary examines the use of artificial intelligence and automated surveillance in the Israeli military’s attacks on Palestine. The documentary features interviews with 24 anonymous employees of the Israeli Defense Forces and intelligence services who describe the calculated killing of civilians. The documentary’s title, Naza, comes from a term used by the Israeli military for the number of civilian casualties.

The film was produced by the British newspaper The Guardian as part of the news media’s commitment to spreading independent journalism. The film’s executive producers are Jonathan Glazer, director of the Oscar-winning film Zone of Interest (UK, 2023), and producer James Wilson.
