Fri 6 March | 4.30pm–5.30pm | Festival Center | In English

Tampere Film Festival together with the Women in Film & Television Finland will organise a highly topical 50–50 theme year discussion about the equal film programming and film representations at festivals. What active steps could festivals take in order to support gender equality and diversity? Is 50–50 a realistic goal and if so, how do we achieve it?

The panel consists of Tampere Film Festival’s programmer Riina Mikkonen, Black Nights Film Festival’s Shorts Head of Programme Laurence Boyce and the chairperson of Danish Film Critics Association, Nanna Frank Rasmussen. The discussion will be moderated by Marjo Pipinen from The Finnish Film Foundation.

“5050 by 2020” is a pledge that film festivals can take to further gender equality and diversity in their programmes and organisations by the year 2020.
