Hämeenlinna-based Mikko Hieta works as a communications director in the education company Hyria that focuses on training visual expression and media professionals. In his career in the field of communications and marketing Hieta has participated in numerous productions of corporate videos and commercials. In films he is fascinated by the way professionals of different fields combine their expertise for the purpose of storytelling. For example, lighting, editing, the use of sound and colour and cinematography have a vast impact on how the ideas behind the film are conveyed to the audience. Hieta believes that even though the story is always the king, best films reflect the ambition and the passion of their creators. Hieta has an MA in organizational communication and public relations. He is the father of two children’s film enthusiasts and a deputy member of the board in The Church Media Foundation.
