\"Lyhytelokuvap\u00e4iv\u00e4Short Film Day<\/a> will be celebrated in Finland for the 13th time around the shortest day of the year, on 21 December, as well as during the two weeks leading up to it. The idea behind this international event, originally from France, is that anyone can organise their own short film screening using their own devices, wherever they like \u2013 for example in schools, kindergartens, libraries or on their own sofa \u2013 and Short Film Day provides the films free of charge!<\/span><\/p>\n

This year, five film packages are available. As usual, there are dedicated packages for children and young people, and the youth package also includes free learning materials (in Finnish) that can be used, for example, in lower secondary or upper secondary school lessons. In addition, for the third time, there is an Open Screen package, for which an open call was held in October 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n
