\"ManseCurated by Tampere Film Festival, the short film screening TFF GOES MANSE PRIDE: ECHOES OF BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN will be presented as part of the Manse Pride 2025 week. The screening takes place on <\/span>Wednesday, 11 June at 19:15<\/b> at Arthouse Cinema Niagara.<\/span><\/p>\n

This screening is a tribute to <\/span>Brokeback Mountain<\/span><\/i> (USA, 2005), directed by <\/span>Ang Lee<\/b>, which premiered in 2005. The film is considered the first mainstream film to openly portray homosexual desire without veiling it.<\/span><\/p>\n

While the love story between two cowboys ends tragically \u2013 like so many queer-themed films in the mainstream \u2013 the margins tell a different story: in these short films, the interplay of masculinity, sensitivity, and homosexual desire doesn\u2019t necessarily lead to ruin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Echoes of Brokeback Mountain<\/span><\/i> reflects the lives of queer people outside big cities, echoing longing and masculine sensitivity two decades later. Masculinity is not a monolith \u2013 it evolves with time.<\/span><\/p>\n

The screening features the films <\/span>Sauna Day<\/span><\/i> (dir. <\/span>Anna Hints<\/b> & <\/span>Tushar Prakash<\/b>, Estonia, 2024); <\/span>IUS of Time<\/span><\/i> (dir. <\/span>Roberto F. Canuto<\/b> & <\/span>Xu Xiaoxi<\/b>, Spain, 2025); <\/span>Greenhorn<\/span><\/i> (dir. <\/span>Sabrina Way<\/b>, Canada, 2025); and <\/span>The Blue Shelter<\/span><\/i> (dir. <\/span>J\u00e9r\u00e9my Piette<\/b>, France, 2023).<\/span><\/p>\n
