The series, organised by Pirkanmaa Film Centre and Tampere Film Festival, has brought a diverse selection of new and older European films to the big screen. Over the past year, <em>52 Views on Europe<\/em> has offered a chance to see cult classics such as <em>Night Porter<\/em> (1974) and <em>S\u00e1t\u00e1ntang\u00f3<\/em> (1994), silent film <em>Nosferatu<\/em> (1922) with live band accompaniment and this decade&#8217;s new films such as <em>A Story of Bones<\/em> (2022). The film series has also included short film series, dance films, documentaries and a National Theatre Live screening.<\/p>\n<p>December&#8217;s films will be focusing on two European female artists. <em>Hilma<\/em> (2022), written and directed by <strong>Lasse Hallstr\u00f6m<\/strong>, tells the story of Swedish abstract art pioneer <strong>Hilma af Klint<\/strong> (1862\u20131944), who only rose to prominence in the art world after her death. <strong>Lutz Pehnert&#8217;s<\/strong> documentary <em>Bettina<\/em> (2022) focuses on the life of German singer-songwriter <strong>Bettina Wegner<\/strong>. Film&#8217;s director as well as producer <strong>Susann Schimk<\/strong> will attend the screening.<\/p>\n<h4>December&#8217;s Films at Arthouse Cinema Niagara:<\/h4>\n<p>WED 13 Dec 18:30 Lutz Pehnert: BETTINA (Germany, 2022) -S- (subtitles in English)<br \/>\nTHU 14 Dec 16:45 Lasse Hallstr\u00f6m: HILMA (Sweden, 2022) -12- (spoken in English, subtitles in Swedish)<\/p>\n<p>Tickets 6\/8 \u20ac.<\/p>\n<p><em>52 Views on Europe<\/em>\u00a0is part of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.operaatiopirkanmaa.fi\/en\/frontpage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Operation Pirkanmaa<\/a>, which is a continuation of the European Capital of Culture (ECoC) project.
