In the short Trash Films, young people present their thoughts on environmental issues and consumer behaviour. In this year’s participatory film project, the young have thought of solutions to issues related to consumerism. The lower and upper secondary school pupils have produced their short films in workshops led by professionals from the Pirkanmaa Film Centre.

The documentary Tietokoneen elinkaari, made by pupils from Kangasala, focuses on recycling electronics. In the workshops in Tampere, the theme was reckless wasting in terms of rubbish and fridge contents. The insane christmas wishes speed up climate change. Northern Hervanta School chose to do a rap music video about clothes.

The short films will be presented in two screenings and will be announced later.

The Trash Films project is enabled by Pirkanmaan jätehuolto as well as the schools and municipalities of Pirkanmaa.
