What do we expect?

You should be at least 18 years old and ready to commit to the given tasks. Your positive attitude and flexibility will guarantee a smooth working atmosphere and great festival experience for all. In certain customer service duties it is essential to have fluency in Finnish, other language skills are an excellent bonus.

The duration of each shift is 5–6 hours and a volunteer is expected to work a minimum of four different days. We aim to find suitable shifts for everyone. Working hours can take place anytime from early mornings to late nights depending on the assigned team. Certain assignments take place before and after the festival week.

Tampere Film Festival operates by the principles of equity, justice and equality. We require our volunteers to adhere to these values and commitment to safer space principles.

What do we offer you?

All volunteers will receive a personal Staff Pass.
With Staff Pass you have free access to all normal-priced (12 €) screenings depending on the seat availability. You will also receive a free voucher for Festhome TV platform where you can watch available festival screenings online.
You will get other benefits too with your Staff Pass e.g. discounts from our co-operation restaurants.

As a volunteer, you will receive a festival programme catalogue which offers comprehensive information about films, screenings and events and a festival t-shirt, which is similar than last year. For environmental reasons we have created long-lasting design and we encourage our volunteers to re-use the same t-shirt for several years at the festival.

Volunteers will receive a free meal per each 5-hour shift. Please remember to inform your possible allergies and diets in the registration form. There are break rooms at venues or nearby for the festival staff where we offer refreshments and light snacks.

As a volunteer you have the opportunity to gain wide work experience and create professional or recreational networks. We offer you adequate responsibility with your tasks but also guidance and support from your team leader. We will give you a work certificate upon request.
